Easy-Laser® E970 - Parallelism
For parallelism measurement of rolls and other objects in numerous applications. The Easy-Laser® E970 Parallelism system is especially suitable when many objects are to be measured and aligned, and when the distances are long. Any chosen object or the baseline can be used as a reference.
The Easy-Laser® E970 Parallelism system use the traditional method where a laser beam is pointed alongside the machine, and then deflected 90 degrees towards the measurement object by a penta prism.
The prism is moved along the beam, which is deflected to each roll that is to be measured, and maybe aligned. Both ends of the roll are measured, and you get an angular value which is compared to the reference line (base line) or a reference roll. Besides paper machines, printing machines and rolling mills you can also measure and align rails, overhead tracks, metal sheet cutters and many other types of machines.
The E970 is especially suitable when many objects are to be measured and aligned, and when measuring over a long distance. The maximum distance with a standard system is 80 metres, the number of measurement objects can be several hundred, but is more likely limited by other practical factors than the system software! The alignment of the rolls can be performed in live mode with instant feedback. You can add, remove and remeasure objects any time during measurement. The result is displayed both graphically and digitally in a table, and a PDF report can be produced directly on-site. Then transfer the results to your PC and the database software EasyLink™ (included).
Easy-Laser® E970 is not only limited to parallelism measurement. You can also use the system to measure level, straightness and flatness on wire sections (suction boxes), flatness on foundations and straightness of rolls. With a few accessories you can also do shaft alignment. This makes the E970 a very cost effective solution for your maintenance department.
The featured programs below are the most common used with this system. Please click here for a complete overview of possibilities.

The display unit for the E series enables you to work more efficiently and for longer than ever before thanks to several innovative solutions. It is also ergonomically designed with easy-to-grip rubber cladding and robust construction.
The display unit has a thin, easy-to-grip and rubber coated profile that ensures a secure grip. It has large well-spaced buttons that give clear feedback when pushed. In addition, the two Enter buttons make the system suitable for both right and left-handed users. The display screen has clear graphics that guide you through the measurement process.
You can create a user profile where you can save your personal settings. You can also have different settings for different types of measurements. It makes work faster!
You can choose the language that you want to appear on screen. English, German, French, Spanish, Portuguese, Swedish, Finnish, Russian, Polish, Dutch, Italian, Japanese, Korean and Chinese are available.
If you wish to expand functionality in the future, the software in the display unit can be upgraded via the internet or by connecting a USB memory containing the new software. In this way you will also have access to the measurement programmes that we develop for new purposes in the future.
Note: Dust and splash guards for connectors that are not used when measuring
System E970 comes with a 2 axis wireless positional detector (E7) placed on the roll with a sliding bracket with rotatable head. The bracket is kept in place with heavy duty, spring loaded magnets. For small roll diameters (< Diameter 85 mm [3.3"]) the included magnet base with rotatable head is used instead.
For installation, setting up and maintenance of precision machines, leveling of machine tables, rolls, etc – basically anything you can think of! Built-in rechargeable battery. OLED display with digital and graphical representation of angles. Connects wirelessly to display unit E51 for more functionality. Resolution 0.01 mm/m (0.001°). Measurement range ± 2 mm/m.
The angular prism (penta prism) deflects the laser beam exactly 90°. With the rotatable angular prism you can reach the detector almost anywhere on the machine.
Laser transmitter D22 can be used to measure flatness, straightness, squareness, level and parallelism. The laser beam can sweep 360° with a measurement distance of up to 40 metres [130´] in radius. The laser beam can be angled 90° to the sweep, within 0.01 mm/m [0.01 mils/inch].
The transmitter has many mounting options. Attach it with the three magnetic feet, horizontally or vertically. Attach it with a pin in the spindle. Or put it beside the machine on for example a tripod (optional).
Tripod for use with angular prism D46 and laser transmitter D22. The height of the tripod can be adjusted between 500 and 2730 mm.
