Belt alignment

We have a complete range of professional tools for belt transmission alignment. Choose between visual targets or digital display. Whichever you choose, the result is reduced wear on pulleys, belts, bearings, and seals. Vibration levels are lowered, and improved efficiency helps reduce energy costs. For these reasons, a belt alignment system normally pays for itself within a few months, regardless of which model you choose.

A laser belt alignment tool provides a faster and more precise way to align belt-driven machines compared to traditional methods like straightedges or strings. It projects a visible laser line parallel to the sheave, making misalignment easy to detect and correct.

Using a laser tool helps reduce wear on belts, sheaves, and bearings, improving service life and overall machine efficiency. An added benefit is that the alignment job can be performed by a single person. Regular checks with laser-based tools ensure long-term reliability and optimal machine efficiency.

A laser belt alignment tool uses a laser line to quickly show whether two belt-driven sheaves are aligned.

1. The laser transmitter and detector (or targets) are mounted on the sides of the sheaves using magnets.

2. The laser transmitter projects a straight laser line parallel to the reference sheave.

3. The position of the machine is adjusted until the laser line aligns perfectly with the target indicators.

Side mounting uses the sheave’s side surface as the reference, which provides higher accuracy compared to mounting on the radial surface. The larger contact area improves stability and measurement precision during alignment.

It also avoids the belt groove area, which is more prone to wear and damage. This reduces the risk of incorrect readings and helps ensure more reliable alignment results.
