Become an alignment expert

If you wish to deepen your knowledge, we are available to offer measurement and alignment training either on site with you, or at our well-equipped training premises.

Our courses are always designed with the participants’ prior knowledge and type of operation in mind. The more you understand about measurement technology, the more use you will get out of your measurement system in your daily work. In our training you get:

  • Increased understanding of the significance of alignment to the condition of your machine and solid advice for your daily work.
  • Theoretical knowledge of laser and measuring technology, which is always mixed with practical exercises on real machines in order to simulate reality as accurately as possible.

Basic shaft alignment

Theory:
Fundamental principles of horizontal shaft alignment, including measurement methods, tolerances, and the concept of soft foot and its impact on machine performance.

Practical exercises:
Setup of measurement equipment, performing horizontal shaft alignment, and identifying and correcting soft foot on different machine types.

Advanced shaft alignment

Theory:
Advanced shaft alignment applications including vertical alignment, cardan shafts, machine trains, twist, and trend analysis using EasyTrend.

Practical exercises:
Performing measurements and adjustments within the above areas, focusing on complex machine installations.

Theory:
Fundamental principles of belt transmission alignment. Review of belt types, pulley function, tolerances, and the effects of misalignment such as wear, energy losses, and vibration.

Practical exercises:
Setup of laser equipment for belt alignment, measurement of pulley positions, and adjustment for correct alignment.

Theory:
Principles of measuring straightness, flatness, and level, including reference lines and reference planes. Review of how deviations affect installation, operation, load distribution, and machine performance.

Practical exercises:
Setup of measuring equipment, performing measurements, and making adjustments for different types of straightness, flat surfaces, and installations requiring correct level.

Theory:
Fundamental principles of bore alignment, including bearing journals, centerlines, and the relationship between rotational centers and linear movement.

Practical exercises:
Setup of equipment and performing measurements to determine and adjust centerline and straightness in bore systems.

Theory:
Basic vibration theory: frequency, amplitude, RMS and common fault types such as unbalance, misalignment, and bearing defects.

Practical exercises:
Vibration measurement, data collection.

Theory:
Basic geometry and measurement principles in sawmill applications such as band saws, circular saws, feeders, and conveyors. Focus on how straightness, parallelism, and flatness affect production quality and reliability.

Practical exercises:
Setup of measurement equipment and performing alignment and adjustments on sawmill equipment such as band wheels, saw lines, and conveyor systems.

Learn how to install reciprocating compressors correctly for optimal performance and reliability with the help of our measurement systems. The program covers key aspects such as foundation flatness and level verification, soft foot correction, shaft alignment and pipe strain, top frame flatness verification, measurement of bore straightness, and cylinder out-of-roundness.

It also includes main bearing jack measurement, connecting rod jack measurement, crank shaft axial movement measurement, thermal growth compensation, dynamic measurement, and more.
