Spring is here, and exciting things are happening at Easy-Laser. As usual, one might add, but this particular thing does stand out.
With ten consecutive years of increasing market share, Easy-Laser is no longer the challenger. We have done well and earned our position as the market leader. We are now extremely happy to announce the new CEO of Easy-Laser’s German subsidiary, none other than Michael Stolze, the one and only. We had the opportunity to have a talk with Mr. Stolze just prior to his official arrival to the team.
Upping our game in the DACH region
So, Michael, you’re joining Easy-Laser as the CEO of the German branch. Will there be other tasks for you, other than those typical of a CEO?
– Yes, there are indeed. On the one hand, I will of course also be involved in operational matters and actively participate in sales work in the DACH region. On the other hand, I have been given the great offer and opportunity of being able to get involved in strategic product management in Sweden.
Even simpler and safer
What do you see as the most interesting challenges for you and Easy-Laser in the years to come?
– Machine, plant and process reliability and availability will continue to be the top priority in the future because they have a significant impact on the competitiveness of the producing industry.
The challenges will be to make the measurement and alignment process even simpler and safer. In addition, there are great opportunities to look at laser alignment even more from the perspective of the large condition monitoring approach or, in some cases, even to think about it completely anew.
And what do you look forward to the most?
– I am looking forward to interacting with customers and partners and helping them to achieve the above-mentioned goals by using the right measurement technology and the right strategy.
Two decades of hands-on experience
What would you say will be your main contributions to Easy-Laser?
– Well, I would describe myself as a manager with a strong hands-on mentality. I have always been very involved in the operational business. I have not only learned sales, marketing, product management and the application of laser alignment in theory, I have done all of this myself for more than two decades. With all this experience, I now want to make a contribution to the continued success of Easy-Laser.
If you can’t beat them, join them!
And that sort of naturally transcends into the inevitable question: Why Easy-Laser? What makes you want to join this former competitor of yours?
– Over the years, you get to know your competitors quite well. The development of the product portfolio and the status of Easy-Laser's current products and solutions are completely convincing. The people are at least as important for my decision to choose Easy-Laser – the conversations with Mikael Terner and all his team members were always warm, open and appreciative. I quickly realized that it felt right to become part of the Easy-Laser family.
Closing the circle
Could you describe some of your objectives, short-term as well as long-term, as the new face of Easy-Laser Germany?
– Now, of course, I have to be careful, but I can say this much: I am used to working in a very structured and strategic way. Together with my team, I will start by meticulously analysing our own current situation and the market situation. In order to be successful, you need products and solutions that are visibly different from the competition, especially in terms of the benefits they offer, or in the best case even clearly differentiate themselves through unique selling points. This is exactly what I will be working on with my team – and to close the circle: this is exactly what I want to contribute to in terms of my work at the Swedish headquarters.
What can we say? When the stars are aligned, beautiful things can happen. We are really happy and excited to welcome Michael Stolze on board.
